Pace yourself

Don't submit to 30 directories in one day — it looks like a link scheme. Aim for 3-5 submissions per week over 6-8 weeks.

What to avoid

Never buy 'backlink packages', PBN links, or 'guaranteed DA80+ links' on Fiverr. These will get you a Google manual penalty. There are no shortcuts.

NAP consistency

Use the exact same Name, Address, Phone (NAP) format on every listing. Inconsistency confuses Google and dilutes local ranking signals. Recommended: 'Digital Munkey Ltd · [Kent address] · 020 3086 7575 · info@digitalmunkey.co.uk'.

The highest-value links

The highest-value backlinks come from: (1) being quoted in editorial articles, (2) publishing original research/data, (3) building free tools others link to, (4) sponsoring events or charities, (5) genuine partnerships with non-competing agencies.
